Sheila, this is such a treasure for your family–you have done a wonderful job in making it available. The recipes remind me of my mother’s family’s cooking.
Thank you for sharing! I am the great-granddaughter of Harvey. My dad remembers Uncle Milton fondly, as he was more of a grandfather to my dad than Harvey as he passed away the same year that my dad was born (and then, of course, married Margaret). This is fun to see some recipes that look familiar, and feel our connection through food. Thank you, too, for the photographs that you’ve shared. I think I’m the only one in my family who delights in these sorts of things — I’ve inherited the scrapbooks from my materal great-grandmother and grandmother and Milton’s nephew, Lloyd (my paternal grandfather).
With care,
Kirsten Flewelling
